boo!

Micah and his buddy Elijah went trick-or-treating tonight. They were a T-rex and triceratops, respectively:
Though, triceratops became a no-ceratops pretty quickly:
At 2, Elijah was our fearless leader while Micah followed with a bit more trepidation at the spooky homes of the die-hard halloween-lovers. Micah would follow nonetheless, as the lure of "candy!" was too great. After a few houses, Micah hit his stride, dutifully chanting, "trick-or-treat!" followed with a hasty "thank you" and "happy halloween" as he was making tracks to the next house (lest we lose valuable candy hoarding time):
Whereas Levi was just along for the ride, trying desperately to keep his eyes open:

You'll note the return of the chili pepper! While Micah donned the latest Nanny Gorgeous handmade creation, Levi got to recycle the pepper--much to our great satisfaction. But who wore it best?

Levi?

Or Micah?

Levi is getting more active in his play...as well as more vertical:

We hit up Underwood Family Farms again for the perennial pumpkin roast in the Valley:
The ergo came in handy leaving the pumpkin patch:
Tractors were a big hit this year.

Pumpkin patches elicit a desire to go down memory lane....

typical night in the grossman household

Micah has a lot of energy. He also has a lot to say--ALL the time. It is trying at times.

Levi now has a blister on his other toe:
(sorry for my annoyingly loud voice on the video)

Chubbs

I was catching up on some Jon Stewart when the Alex-the Fat Baby sketch caught my attention. If you can't sit through the first few minutes the basic premise is a four-month old baby in Colorado is denied health insurance coverage because he is too fat. Alex is 4 months old and 17 pounds--corresponding to 99th percentile. Er, Levi had his 4 month check up a couple of weeks ago: 17 lbs 3 oz.

(I'll add he was 27 inches, corresponding to 90th percentile)

Couldn't choose just one

In honor of Joey

To celebrate Joey's birthday properly on Monday I took Micah for a post-Levi-Momma-and-Me excursion to.....drum roll please....DISNEYLAND! Yes, I willingly took my 3 year old to the place that no longer claims to be the happiest place on earth--and lived to tell the tale. I spent a rather enjoyable 12 hours at the park with Micah, who at 40.5" was tall enough for every ride, except Indiana Jones. Did I think it wise to take my 3 year old on Space Mountain, even though he technically could ride? No, I did not. But he did go on Splash Mountain and on the last big dip (reportedly 5 stories tall) I felt his little body tense up, then upon impact and the giant Splash! a, "THAT was FUN, Momma!"

We got all the way through the line on Pirates of the Caribbean, when Micah said, "I'm scared Momma". Thankfully we had not invested too much time waiting in line so I was happy to skip across the waiting boat and enter the light again.

Waiting in line at Disneyland: the other key "attraction" but nothing a churro couldn't fix.
It's a small world:
I am proud to say Micah made it over 8 hours before his first, "I want" tantrum (it was a laser from the Buzz Lightyear ride that conveniently spits you out in a gift shop when you disembark your space craft). I'm even prouder to say he didn't get one. (Incidentally I had no idea Micah knew who Buzz Lightyear was, but he recognized him alright!) We went on Astroblasters 4 times:
Micah elevates us in our rocket (we later went on this at night)

Afterall Disneyland at night is the best:
Pinocchio says, "put your hands in the air if you're a true player!"
Who's the best momma? Alright, "best" is questionable, but I definitely got some brownie points.

The boys share a (root)beer at the Quarry Brewery--gotta love MT alcohol laws!
