Dr. Daddy

I had Micah practice his greeting to Zack when he got home today: "Hi, Doctor Daddy!" He got a little shy when it was actually go-time, but over dinner he did spontaneously say, "Hi Doctor Daddy!"

Yes it is official, Zack filed his dissertation this morning and I saw (and ate) the See's candy lollipop with the "PhinisheD" wrapper that was the proof.

Way to go Zack! We're so proud. Now for a well-deserved nap...

"Hi Micah!"

Micah enjoys the "Hi Micah" game whereby he gets YOUR attention in precisely the same way you would get HIS attention: by repeating, "Hi Micah!". It's even more fun with cerebral protection:

We're working with Micah on modulating the volume of his voice...rather unsuccessfully:

San Francisco Play Date

Zack and Micah spent the afternoon in Nikko's 'hood in SF last week and got these great shots:

Nothing says fun like crashing babies into walls:

only in Berserkeley

This past Saturday we went for the greatly anticipated bus ride to the downtown Berkeley Farmer's Market as we are apt to do on Saturday mornings and were in for an extra special treat beyond the organic strawberries: The Annual Pagan Festival...and why yes, of course those are witches on broom sticks that Micah is watching above. My personal favorite was the Prius parked with the vanity plate: WICCAN--with a star in place of the "A"--that or the real chain male one could purchase. Almost as good as the naked war protest Melodie emailed me about when I was in Mexico. Ahhh Berkeley, we will miss you...

Numbers

Guess which major milestone Micah passed last Friday, May 9?

Well, he did turn 23 months old, but that isn't very significant.

Here are the numbers:

365 + 366 = 731
He will be 731 days old on his 2nd birthday.

731 - 31 = 700
The month of May has 31 days, so he was 700 days old on Friday.

700 = 100 x 7
HAPPY 100 WEEKS MICAH!!!!

New Haven

While mommy's in heaven, Micah is in New Haven, trying to get a leg up on admissions at Yale. Okay, so he isn't really wowing the admissions committee with the ABC's but he is having a great time with his pal, Teo. Here he is tackling...er, I mean, hugging Teo, in what only can be referred to as a completely staged shot:

And playing steam roller:
What I want to know is why the kid who lives in Connecticut all winter is tanner than the California blond? Here Micah strokes Matteo's soft olive complexion cheek:
