Micah is expressing a sense of loss for the first time. Last year when we moved, we lost a lot of good friends and familiar locations, but Micah didn't really appreciate it. Recently though, he's been reporting the absence of his friend Billy from school, and yesterday Micah informed me that Billy goes to a new school now. (The teachers told me that he moved.)
Even though he doesn't say so in words, I can tell that Micah misses Billy. They used to pretend to be T-rexes together, making noises and `biting' people with their hands held as jaws. In fact, Micah likely provoked some mischief: one day he reported that BJ said a bad word. When asked why, Micah answered that he and Billy had been roaring at BJ.
Micah has been reporting to me that he was a `bad guy' at school. He's not getting into trouble-- rather, he and another kid have been pretending to be `bad guys' which means shooting people and pretending to kill them. I try to discourage this, of course, but he claims that it's fun.
Micah's expression of feelings about Amy's absence when she goes to Anaheim have also changed. He no longer asks where she is. Instead, he'll occasionally say that he want his Momma. Fortunately this is usually right before she gets home.
